Local Vendor Spotlight: (Free!) Marianne’s Ice Cream

Sigona’s is glad to announce our annual FREE ice cream special featuring Marianne’s Ice Cream from Santa Cruz.

Marianne's, in Santa Cruz, is a must do when spending a day in Santa Cruz, but if you can't make it down there, get the ice cream for free at Sigona's!

Sam Lieberman and his wife Dorothy are renowned for their old-fashioned Marianne’s Ice Cream shop in Santa Cruz; pulling over for a double scoop of Marianne’s is practically a ritual for Santa Cruz visitors.

Sigona’s has partnered with Marianne’s for more than 10 years, and we’re excited to announce the summer ice cream special: get a free quart of Marianne’s ice cream July 27 – Aug. 2, 2011, with your coupon when you spend $30 or more!

Over the years, John Nava, our specialty foods buyer, has worked with Sam to develop new flavor combinations for our stores. Frequent Sigona’s shoppers may remember the double chocolate marshmallow bunny ice cream we featured last year, as well as the cantaloupe ice cream made with Turlock cantaloupe – John and Sam churned those exclusively for Sigona’s!

We’re switching it up this summer by offering you a choice of flavors. We may just do something special with whatever we discover is YOUR favorite! Did you know Marianne’s makes more than 35 different flavors of ice cream?

“We work with some of the best, most talented local vendors and Marianne’s is one of my favorites because it reminds me of the way ice cream used to taste when I was a kid,” said Nava.

Please enjoy the coupon for free Marianne’s ice cream when you make a purchase of $30 this week (July 27 – Aug. 2).
