The Many Uses of Brie

Brie is one of those cheeses you can use in almost anything. We have a fantastic deal on Brie right now too, so here are a few suggested variations…oh the many uses of Brie!

Brie with an apricot on top

Spread a little Brie on a Carr’s cracker with a dollop of our Sigona’s apricot jam and top it with a slice of fresh apricot. Delicious!

What you need:

  • Carr’s crackers
  • Sigona’s apricot jam
  • Rogue et Noir Brie, at room temperature
  • 1 fresh apricot, thinly sliced

Brie en Croute

Slice the brie in half horizontally, layer in goodies and replace the top half. Wrap with puff pastry, brush with egg, bake and enjoy!

  • Brown sugar, apples, pecans, butter
  • Basil pesto
  • Sigona’s Sweet Red Pepper Relish

Brie Fondue

Combined with olive oil, white wine and other cheeses, you’ve got one amazing fondue!

  • Stir in crab meat and serve with sliced baguettes
  • Stir in pesto
  • Dunk in cooked chicken breast, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes , pears, apples, bread or berries

Brie Panini

If you don’t have a panini maker, don’t let that stop you! Place a small frying pan on top of your sandwich on the griddle or grill pan and set a heavy oven-safe bowl on top to weigh it down. You can make a delicious panini using these simple ingredients and Brie.

  • Pear and Arugula
  • Chicken and Dijon mustard
  • Fig and Prosciutto

Keep it Simple

Bake, wrap, slice, cook? Are you thinking, “I don’t have time for all that!” Well, you’re in luck. Simply arrange the Brie wedge on a platter and top/decorate with some of these suggestions:

  • Top with sun-dried tomato puree and serve with wedges of red bell peppers, kalamata olives and sliced baguettes
  • Prepare slices of Brie and drizzle them with preserves or honey
  • Feel free to experiment with chutneys, jellies or marmalades and serve with crackers. Use holiday colors (jalapeno jelly, red pepper relish, blueberry chutney, etc) to wow the crowd on the big day
  • Mixed dried fruits and nuts
  • Brie always pairs nicely with seasonal fruits, such as berries or melon.
